-Kim will provide us with a correlation chart


-numbers on the back of Rigby books are Rigby numbers - must be correlated to other systems
-Kim will provide us with a Rigby Benchmarking kit for review
-when you order a 6 pack of books, it also comes with a teacher resource tool that outlines the lesson and teaching points

PM Plus (Rigby)
-updated books for students
-leveled from 1-25; bridge books leading to chapter books
-books focused on guiding readers and gradual release

Parrot Extremes

-turn and learn books

-matched a fiction and nonfiction by flipping over the same book - one side of book is fiction, one is nonfiction

-older Parrot books the leveling is not consistent; new Parrot books (turn and learn) leveling is pretty good

-designed to get boys to become interested in reading; used the same art used in computer games to create the illustrations

-lessons are still broken down

-Kate and Julie met with her a few weeks ago. She was supposed to drop off materials for us to preview. We will follow up with her.

Thoughts about presentations to schools

-Bookroom Coordinators will help spread excitement about the bookroom process by giving away some free books provided by Perfection Learning.

-Bookroom Coordinators will share how the money was divided up among schools (see wiki for details).

Update from each coordinator

Greensview - existing bookroom has been inventoried and up and running; the intermediate bookroom is being inventoried, labeled and shelved; waiting for shelves to be put together

Windermere - physical space is cleaned up; books that were ordered at the end of last year have been leveled (F&P and DRA), beginning to inventory all books; grade levels have been invited to visit the bookroom and help weed out books that no longer belong in the bookroom

Tremont - waiting for shelves to be put together; all of the 3-5 books have been inventoried and leveled; three sections have been created fiction, nonfiction (by content area), and biographies; K-2 exists as it has in the past

Wickliffe -

Barrington - building is under construction; primary bookroom has a temporary set-up; preliminary stages of creating an inventory of books

IntelliScanner - Annette

-Annette shared information about the Intelliscanner; she ordered one and will play around with it and let us know what she finds

-The Junior Library Guild is having a warehouse sale October 2-4; they are hard bound books for $5 (typically $20 books)

-Angie has a catalog

-This is an annual event

-People can subscribe

3. The group plans to meet again in November (after Thanksgiving) - we will meet at Tremont and discuss the Intelliscanner and a method for making labels by merging Excel and a Word document
